I’ve caught the fashion bug. I spent this afternoon grappling with (and failing miserably at) putting my thoughts on style versus trend into words. It devolved into me fawning over Altuzarra’s Resort 2017 collection. I have to admit I’m obsessed.
The designer’s skillful play with patterns and textures is brilliant. I adore the light blue lace over a red silk shift. The embolden black belt with red leather threaded through silver grommets cinch the ethereal frock perfectly. A pink pleated calf-length dress clung to the model’s body in a modest but sensual way. The slight flick of the skirt added a flirty feminism Altuzarra knows well. The coolest thing in the entire collection? A gorgeous checkered shirt dress melts into a tie-dye pattern at the hips that I predict many of our street style mavens will quickly snap up. This chill day dress was rivaled by a pair pants made honeycomb mesh and embroidered with sequin flowers: a daring date night choice. The piece to resistance came in the form of a silk net dress that seemed sexy and I for girls night out and still work wear appropriate. Definitely a wardrobe staple!
